Wigtown Peeps Out is a project I developed for Wigtown Book Festival 2014 in order to raise awareness of the international network of book towns spread across the world. Each hand painted peepboard features one character relevant to the literature or culture of the booktown presented; allowing visitors of the Wigtown Book Festival to slip into their role. The international book towns involved in the project are Redu (BE), St-Pierre-de-Clages (CH), Bécherel (FR), Clunes (AU), Wünsdorf (GER), Fjærland (NO), Bredevoort (NL), Urueña (ES) and Montereggio (IT).

The lovely models featured below are Peggy Hughes (Director of the Dundee Literary Festival), Hazel Campbell (Painter), Lari Don (Children's Writer), Fred MacAuley (Comedian), Anupa Gardner (Illustrator), Adrian Turpin (Director of the Wigtown Book Festival), Colin (Digital producer), Paul Stänner (German journalist and writer) and Joyce Cochrane (owner of the Old Bank Bookshop).

'Wigtown Peeps Out' was shortlisted for the AOI World Illustration Awards 2015.
